In my tiny town, we have this very special place to eat, drink and be merry, called The Glass Onion. A couple bought this old house a while back and turned it into this lovely Bistro. It is a miracle that it has sustained itself here— in the land of gravy and biscuits, donuts and canned light beer. It has actually been voted the best restaurant in the Columbia River Gorge several years in a row.
I love it for the quiet. I come in between all the hustle and bustle, setup my laptop and nestle in. I tend to get a lot of work done over beautiful salads, local wine and delicious coffee (It is local, too!) and sometimes I keep it super simple with just a pot of some exotic tea. I lived in San Francisco for almost twenty years and cherished my café time. Something I have missed very much. It is so nice to have a place to go now. An atmosphere that I would have easily enjoyed in my city days. Bon Appetite!!
